Well, day three has started. We got a late start today. Josh and I were apparently quite tired last night. We stopped in russel, Kansas somewhere around 10 last night to sleep at a days inn... In the parking lot. We didn't wake up until around 10 this morning. Now, we travel down I-70 en route toward Colorado. We should arrive there sometime close to 3pm.
Yesterday, we had a blast. We took a back road through Missouri to see a bit more scenic route. It was gorgeous. But you can only see so many plains and wildflowers before it starts getting a little redundant. So when we had an opportunity, we got back on the interstate.
We stopped in Kansas city yesterday afternoon for a late lunch. We Indulged in some mexican food and wandered the streets before deciding that, although clean, Kansas city is a bit boring. We hit the road again, and headed toward russel.
Colorado is sure to bring us happiness. We are both excited about traveling the back roads and seeing the mountains. It's amazing, especially growing up and living in a major city, to see undeveloped land and an actual sky line. Perhaps later, we will read "into the wild" remembering that happiness is best when shared. Jessica Drewien
